Safeguarding
Fatfalam Limited is committed to safeguarding and promoting the safety, dignity and wellbeing of every person who uses our services.
We believe everyone has the right to live free from abuse, neglect, exploitation and avoidable harm. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and we take all concerns seriously.
1. Our Safeguarding Commitment
We aim to provide care and support in an environment where people feel safe, respected and able to raise concerns.
We are committed to:
• Treating people with dignity, respect and compassion.
• Listening to people who use our services and taking their concerns seriously.
• Recognising and responding appropriately to signs of abuse, neglect or exploitation.
• Ensuring staff understand their safeguarding responsibilities.
• Working with relevant safeguarding authorities, health and social care professionals and other agencies when necessary.
• Taking appropriate action where there is a risk of harm.
2. Recognising Safeguarding Concerns
Safeguarding concerns can take many forms. These may include physical, emotional or psychological abuse, sexual abuse, financial or material abuse, neglect, discriminatory abuse, organisational abuse, domestic abuse, modern slavery or exploitation.
A concern may arise from something a person tells us, something witnessed by another person, an injury or change in behaviour, or other circumstances that suggest someone may be at risk.
3. Reporting a Safeguarding Concern
If you are receiving services from Fatfalam Limited and you are worried about your own safety or the safety of another person, please tell us as soon as possible.
Family members, representatives, staff and members of the public can also raise safeguarding concerns with us.

• Cooperating with safeguarding enquiries and investigations.
• Contacting the police or emergency services where necessary.
• Making appropriate notifications to regulatory or statutory bodies where required.
5. Confidentiality and Information Sharing
We respect people’s privacy and handle safeguarding information carefully.
There may, however, be circumstances where information needs to be shared with safeguarding authorities, healthcare professionals, the police or other relevant organisations to protect someone from abuse, neglect or serious harm.
Where information is shared, we will do so appropriately and in accordance with our legal and professional responsibilities.
6. Staff Responsibilities
People working for Fatfalam Limited are expected to understand their safeguarding responsibilities and to report concerns promptly.
We support this through appropriate recruitment procedures, safeguarding training, supervision and clear reporting arrangements.
Staff must never ignore or attempt to conceal a safeguarding concern.
7. Immediate Danger
If you believe someone is in immediate danger or there is an emergency, contact the emergency services by calling 999.
Safeguarding concerns may also be reported directly to the appropriate local authority safeguarding service.
8. Our Commitment to Learning
We review safeguarding concerns and incidents to identify learning and improve the safety and quality of our services.
We are committed to maintaining a culture in which people feel able to speak up and where safeguarding concerns are acted upon appropriately.
